A study of voice quality in obese Egyptian children

Abstract Background Obesity is considered a health problem that affects many systems of the body among which respiration and voice. The objective study was to analyze impact obesity in children on quality their Thirty obese were included this cross-sectional compared 30 age- sex-matched healthy as control group. Voice cases controls assessed subjectively by auditory perceptual assessment objectively studying acoustic parameters using Computerized Speech Lab. Flexible laryngoscopy done for with dysphonia. Results Dysphonia perceived 60% cases, voice analysis revealed increased jitter noise harmonic ratio significant difference than controls. Conclusion morbid reveals modifications pertaining vocal characteristics comparison non-obese persons, so hygiene therapy could be added program prophylactic or therapeutic management disorder.
